Synopsis
This is what Suspense Magazine said about the first Misery Bay book: "Not one second is peaceful in Misery Bay. Angus has done a truly amazing job at keeping the pace at top-speed while producing characters that are unforgettable!"
Misery Bay Bog, #2 in the Misery Bay series... After a split with his girlfriend, RCMP officer Garrett Barkhouse decides to move back to work in Halifax, Nova Scotia. As his behemoth cousin, Lonnie, helps him move out of the old Barkhouse home, deep in the North Country woods, a local genealogist stops by to show evidence of a crime. He leads them through the surrounding network of bog lands to a hand sticking out of the moor—that of a bog body, perhaps thousands of years old.
Garrett embarks on an investigation that leads him back to Halifax and to an attractive young archaeologist at Dalhousie University, who is excited at the possibility of finding North America’s first bog body.
Meanwhile, Garrett is ordered to track down evidence of Halifax’s first terror cells. Soon, he is embroiled in a network that may have tentacles running deep into the student body of the university. As clues grow, a bomb blast levels part of the Public Gardens and kills many. Evidence points to a young student as the mastermind.
Garrett and his new partner, young black sergeant Amina Randolph, are quickly up to their necks in danger and world-class intrigue.
